Kejari Targets Head of East Jakarta Water Management Public Works Sub-Department

After naming Head of East Jakarta Agriculture and Forestry Sub-Department as a suspect in Ujung Menteng urban forest corruption case, now the East Jakarta State Attorney Office is targeting Head of East Jakarta Water Management Public Works Sub-Department for alleged corruption act in water channel normalization projects.

For example, the projects work should have concreted the bottom part (of the water channel). But after being checked in the field, it does not exist

“Among those projects are water channel normalization in RW 13 Duren Sawit and water channel normalization on Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai in budget year 2013. Besides that, there are other projects done in that sub-department which suspected causing state loss,” stated Head of East Jakarta State Attorney Office Intel Section, Asep Sontani, Wednesday (5/28).

According to Sontani, after the investigation, it is found out that the specifications of both projects did not match with the existing designs. As a result, the state was at loss for Rp 675 million.

“For example, the projects work should have concreted the bottom part (of the water channel). But after being checked in the field, it does not exist,” he disclosed.

Besides Head of East Jakarta Water Management Public Works Sub-Department, East Jakarta State Attorney Office is also investigating the contractor working on the water channel normalization project in several locations. In that matter, some officials in the organization structure of regional working unit (UKPD) are included.

Meanwhile, when beritajakarta.com contacted Head of East Jakarta Water Management Public Works Sub-Department, Jatiwaluyo, the official refused to comment about this matter.
